  • “Lookout” restaurant to take center stage at “O2 SURFTOWN MUC”
  • Around 220 indoor and outdoor seats
  • Event space for up to 4,000 people can be booked

With the opening of “O2 SURFTOWN MUC” near Munich Airport in the summer of 2024, Allresto, the catering subsidiary of Munich Airport, will be operating a restaurant in a partnership outside the airport campus for the first time. Inspired by the idea that the restaurant is not just a place to eat but also an “observation post” with a view of the surfing activity in the surf park’s wave pool, the name “Lookout” was chosen.

The food concept with an internationally influenced cuisine includes bowls and burgers. From morning to evening, the restaurant will provide visitors with snacks, coffee from a barista bar and lunch for the employees of the nearby companies. As the centerpiece of “O2 SURFTOWN MUC,” the restaurant will have 100 seats inside and around 120 on the terrace, where there will also be a bar. There are also special Coodos that can be booked as exclusive event spaces and a 100-square-meter LED screen for public screenings.

“The partnership between Munich Airport and ‘O2 SURFTOWN MUC’ is not only Allresto’s first off-campus business, under the management of Andreas Reichert, but also a great flagship project for the region in the immediate vicinity of Munich Airport as a destination for millions of guests from all over the world,” said a delighted Jan-Henrik Andersson, Munich Airport Managing Director for Commercial and Security.

“We are pleased to have Allresto as our catering partner and are proud to be a destination outside Munich Airport for the first time. We have found the perfect partner for our new ‘Lookout’ restaurant with Allresto. Thanks to its impressive experience in gastronomy and catering, we can offer our guests an incomparable culinary experience,” added “O2 SURFTOWN MUC” founder Chris Boehm-Tettelbach.

When designing the restaurant, care was taken to ensure it was well integrated into the site and the concept and met international standards. By using natural materials, the restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere for all visitors, surfers and families with children. As an event location with a special flair, the surf park can also be booked for various event sizes with up to 4,000 people.

The “O2 SURFTOWN MUC” property covers a total of 20,000 m2, and its 180-meter-long wave pool with an area of 10,000 m2 makes it ideal for professionals and novice surfers alike.
