As flight connections between China and Munich continue to grow, the popular “Chinese Shopping Assistant” service will expand significantly starting in April 2026. Chinese passengers departing for major cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong will benefit from this special service.
Chinese-speaking "Shopping Assistants" will be available not only in Terminal 2, but also in the new Terminal 1 pier for the first time. This means the service will be offered campus-wide - a logical step, given its great success and high demand. Our trained staff can help with shopping, answer questions about security checks, customs clearance, and VAT refunds, and help with language barriers to make our guests' time at the airport as pleasant as possible.
The service can be used on the spot or booked in advance by phone during service hours at +49 (0) 89 24418846. The airport’s commercial marketing department is responsible for this service and continuously works to enhance the passenger experience.
‘We are delighted to now be able to offer this successful service to our Chinese-speaking guests across all terminals, thereby enhancing their travel experience even further,’ says Elke Haeffner, Head of Leasing and Advertising at Munich Airport.
At Munich Airport, travelers can enjoy a diverse range of shopping options featuring international premium brands and convenient travel items. Among the airport's shops particularly popular with Chinese visitors are Tripidi (household goods), BOSS, Moncler, Hilscher Jewelers (featuring Rolex), as well as Breitling and Emporio Armani. The new luxury bags boutique in the Terminal 1 pier, featuring brands such as Longchamp, Aigner, MCM, and Coach, is also set to become a popular address. Overall, the airport offers passengers an attractive mix of luxury, lifestyle, and high-quality gift ideas.
