In mid-November, Munich Airport received the "Airport Innovation Award" from the renowned aviation magazine "International Airport Review". The award recognizes the airport for its commitment in the field of innovation management and specifically for the implementation of a project in the context of employee and crew control.
The Airport Innovation Award from International Airport Review recognizes airports that have demonstrated exceptional innovation and creativity in improving the passenger experience, increasing operational efficiency, and promoting sustainability. In addition to Munich Airport, the airports of Amsterdam, Vancouver, Hyderabad and Bangalore were among the finalists. Munich Airport is involved in the Airports for Innovation network and regularly introduces new digital services such as the service robot JEEVES to improve the travel experience.
Finally, Munich Airport has introduced a digital allocation system that further increases the efficiency of employee control points. The use of digital technology, LIDAR sensors, allows an automated assignment to the employee control procedure. The sensors are able to reliably detect complex pathways and monitor the control process in employees. In the event of misconduct by individuals to be monitored, an alarm signal is immediately sounded, which prompts the control personnel to intervene immediately. No personal data is collected in this process.
