Press: Successful Kick-Off for Munich Airport's Padel Days

Around 5,000 Visitors attended Opening Weekend

August 17, 2026

Munich Airport successfully launched its inaugural Padel Days with a major opening event on Saturday. Until September 6, 2026, the Forum of the Munich Airport Center (MAC Forum) will be transformed into the largest padel arena in the region, offering a unique combination of sport, entertainment, and community engagement.

Approximately 5,000 visitors attended the opening weekend to experience one of the world's fastest-growing sports, pick up a racket themselves, and enjoy the first highlights of the extensive event program. Featuring three specially constructed courts, the Padel Days offer a diverse range of sporting and entertainment activities for both beginners and experienced players.

The event is held under the patronage of Dr. Markus Söder, Minister-President of the Free State of Bavaria.

The official opening was marked by a welcome address from Dr. Jan-Henrik Andersson, Chief Commercial Officer at Munich Airport, who highlighted the significance of the event for the airport and the region:

"With the Padel Days, we are bringing one of the most dynamic sports of our time to a truly special venue. For many years, the MAC Forum has been known for extraordinary events that bring people together, create excitement, and demonstrate that Munich Airport is much more than a transportation hub. With the premiere of the Padel Days, we are continuing this tradition by offering top-class sport, an attractive experience for our passengers, guests, employees and the local community, and above all, the opportunity for everyone to get actively involved."

Demand for the Padel Days has been exceptionally strong from the very beginning. Both the Munich City Championships and the Bavarian Championships, which will be hosted at Munich Airport during the event period, are already fully booked. In addition, padel enthusiasts can reserve court time through the daily Book & Play program and enjoy the facilities themselves.

The Padel Days venue will be open daily from August 15 through September 6, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. On selected tournament days, operating hours may vary.
