Corona SARS-CoV-2 testing options at the airport

The threats posed by the corona virus pandemic are still relevant.

Tests for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 should make infection chains more comprehensible. The tests should also prevent infected persons from passing on the virus unnoticed.

Various testing options are available at Munich Airport. They can be used by travelers and all other persons.

Tests at the "Test & Fly" Center

The medical laboratory MVZ Martinsried with its"Test & Fly" Center in terminal 2, level 04 offers a testing Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 with fastest possible result determination. The tests, which are subject to a fee (128 euros), are also aimed especially at departing passengers at Munich Airport.

Booking a test

The "Test & Fly" Center is open daily from 5 am to 7 pm at Terminal 2, Level 4. Travellers can book the appointment online (muc.airport-lab.com/) and pay in advance. The PCR test is performed as a throat swab. 

Within three to six hours, a push message is sent to their mobile phone announcing that the results are ready. The full medical report is also sent by email in German and English. A positive test result will be reported to the public health department.

According to §7 (1) of the German Infection Protection Act (IfSG) the laboratory is obliged to report a positive test result to the public health department.

Tests for departing passengers

Outside the opening hours of the "Test & Fly" Center, departing passengers can also take a chargeable PCR test (approx. 181 euros*) via Medicare, a subsidiary of Flughafen München GmbH, in the airport's medical center (Terminal 1, Module E, Level 03). Within 24 hours, travelers receive their results by e-mail in German and English. A positive test result must be reported to the public health department in accordance with official regulations.

In addition, Medicare also offers full-day travelers antigen tests (81 euros*), antibody tests (55 euros*) and fit-to-fly examinations.

Anyone interested in such a test must register for it by calling the airport's emergency ambulance on +49 89 975 633 99 or by e-mail to notfallambulanz@munich-airport.de. Please note that you cannot request test results under this number.

Attention: Tests are performed only on persons without Covid-19 symptoms, or without contact with a person who may have contracted Covid-19.

Test Center at München Airport Center (MAC)

Travelers and all other persons (citizen testing) who would like to be tested for a possible infection with the corona virus SARS-CoV-2 can do this free of charge at the Corona Test Center. The Corona Test Center is located in the Forum of the München Airport Center (MAC) on level 04 and is open daily from 6 a.m. to midnight.

To avoid long waiting times on site, please use the possibility to book an appointment online in advance.

Every person who takes the test will be notified promptly and will receive a written report, regardless of the result.


Entry quarantine regulation for passengers from risk areas

Passengers entering Bavaria who have been in a risk area within ten days before entering the country must go directly to a ten-day quarantine immediately after entry. Passengers arriving from a risk area can be tested for an infection with coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 at a test center or a doctor in their vicinity from the fifth day after entry at the earliest.

Important:
The data provided during registration must match exactly with the data in your identification document.

The registration data is stored for 30 days. If your scheduled arrival time at Munich Airport is delayed, you do not have to do anything if you have already registered in advance.
