Sponsorship

Munich Airport’s sponsorship commitment – a reliable connection

In our fast-paced, mobile world, there are above all new experiences, trusting connections, and special places that shape us and enrich our lives. "Living Connection" is the brand essence of Munich Airport. For this reason, it is a matter close to our hearts to support projects in the areas of sports, social initiatives, culture, education, and nature as a partner and to take on responsibility in the region. A partnership-based and trusting collaboration is particularly important to us in this regard.

Six Pillars of Our Commitment—to People, Nature, and Community

Sports

Youth Development

Sports bring people together and promote well-being. That is why supporting local clubs, tournaments, and young athletes in recreational sports is a cause close to our hearts.

We have a long-standing, trusting partnership with Munich Airport, of which we are very proud. It’s wonderful to have such a strong and reliable partner by our side—one who not only shares our passion for ice hockey but also recognizes the importance of sustainably developing young talent. This close collaboration is a key component in the positive development of Erding as a hub for ice hockey.

TSV Ismaning e. V. is Munich Airport’s new partner in youth development. To kick off the partnership, Petra Pupp visited TSV Ismaning e. V. and was warmly welcomed by the young handball players, as well as by Michael Konrad and Alexander Novakovic, the club’s president.

The airport's sponsorship is intended to further support the club's outstanding youth programs. In addition, two beach handball tournaments with a special atmosphere and a visit from the airport will be held this summer.

As part of its corporate sponsorship program, Munich Airport is supporting SC Eintracht Freising e. V. as a reliable partner, thereby continuing a long-standing partnership and collaboration in the region. A particular focus is placed on the long-term development of youth, which is a top priority for both partners.

As part of this partnership, Munich Airport provides targeted support for the club’s youth programs. As a partner in youth development, the airport helps young people develop not only athletic skills but also important social skills. On the field, children and teenagers learn fairness, develop team spirit, and discover how to handle both success and defeat with poise—values that extend far beyond the realm of sports.

Another visible sign of this partnership is the support provided for the purchase of one of the club’s two new buses. In this context, Petra Pupp officially handed over the bus to Andreas Schlechta, the sports director of SC Eintracht Freising e. V. This investment makes it easier for the club to transport its players safely and comfortably to away games.

The partners hope that this support will help SC Eintracht Freising continue to thrive and enable all its teams to achieve their goals with confidence. The partnership thus exemplifies a commitment that equally strengthens athletic development, a sense of community, and regional ties.

Social Affairs

Provide a sense of security

As a responsible neighbor, we support social projects in the region and contribute to the well-being of the community. In this way, we strengthen social cohesion.

    Exercise for a Good Cause

The Lebenshilfe Freising Charity Runis much more than just a charity run—it is a vibrant symbol of community, solidarity, and diversity in action. Every year, around 250 people from Freising and the surrounding region come together to exercise, socialize, and make a difference. Under the motto "As Colorful as We Are – Because Diversity Unites", it becomes clear what this is really about: Everyone counts, just as they are.

Whether you’re a trained runner, a casual jogger, a walker, or a person in a wheelchair—anyone can participate in the Lebenslauf, regardless of fitness level, age, or mobility. It’s not about speed, but about being on the move together and the joy of participating. Every kilometer covered counts toward the total distance and determines the amount of the donation—a powerful symbol that every contribution matters.

For many years, Munich Airport has supported the Lebenslauf initiative as part of Flughafen München GmbH’s corporate sponsorship program, thereby playing a key role in making this special commitment possible.

Thanks to the donations raised, Lebenshilfe Freising can carry out important projects that empower people with disabilities in their daily lives, support them, and open up new opportunities.

This journey shows what happens when diversity is not just accepted, but lived and celebrated: a sense of togetherness that moves us—in our hearts and with every single kilometer.

We are delighted to have Munich Airport as a reliable and long-standing supporter by our side. It means a great deal to us that we can continue to count on this commitment in the years ahead, which will allow the KlinikClowns to continue their valuable work in the region. Loyal partnerships like this are of great value to our work. For this ongoing support, we would like to say from the bottom of our hearts: Thank you very much.

Culture

Foster creativity

Music, theater, and art bring people together, break down barriers, and unite communities. That is why we support regional cultural projects and promote diversity and cultural exchange.

Education

Unlock knowledge

Learning brings people together. We support educational projects in the region and make it easier for people to access a wide range of learning opportunities. In this way, we help build a strong local educational community for the long term.

Education that opens doors – MiBiKids e. V.

The MiBiKids e. V. association has a clear mission: to support preschoolers and schoolchildren from immigrant backgrounds in learning German—so that language becomes not a barrier, but a key to education and integration. The association’s motto, "Language is the key to education and a fundamental prerequisite for successful integration," is not just a slogan here, but a reality that is put into practice.

For 15 years, founder Samuel Fosso and his team have been dedicated to this cause—and Munich Airport has been supporting them for just as long. Together, they have created a true success story that has already benefited many children.

A Partner for Education in the Airport Region

The adult education centers in Erding and Freising have enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Munich Airport. Thanks to this ongoing support, projects such as the "junge vhs" and a STEM maker workshop for children have been implemented, and a diverse range of adult education programs has been made possible.

The goal of this collaboration is to make education accessible to as many people as possible. The partnership with Flughafen München GmbH helps keep course fees low and promotes lifelong learning regardless of age, background, or financial circumstances.

Munich Airport is thus a reliable partner to the adult education centers in Erding and Freising, and it makes a lasting contribution to education, social cohesion, and the region.

VHS Erding Classes – Continuing Education and On-Site Courses

The Adult Education Center is committed to offering continuing education for all stages of life and to continuously expanding its programs. A key priority remains making these programs more accessible to everyone—with and without disabilities. Everyday skills and basic literacy are reinforced through practical tips and guidance, for example in the areas of media & technology or finance. "Education for sustainable development" remains a top priority, as evidenced by the new "Nature" program area, which features a wide range of offerings related to animals, plants, and biodiversity.

Such a comprehensive and varied program is only possible thanks to the dedication of many people involved. Munich Airport has been a reliable partner and supporter of the Erding Adult Education Center for many years, and we appreciate the airport’s commitment to the work of the Erding Adult Education Center.
