For Munich Airport, a responsible approach to the environment plays a keyrole in its corporate strategy.
Munich Airport has established comprehensive measures for climate and environmental protection and is continuously further developing these. That includes additional measures in the areas of climate, nature, and resource protection, which are implemented above and beyond the legal requirements.
The goal is to reduce the carbon emissions attributable to Munich Airport (Scope 1 and 2) to a Net Zero level by 2035 at the latest. These emissions will be reduced by at least 90% through measures in the four clusters of energy supply, airport technical facilities, buildings and the vehicle pool. The last residual emissions, up to a maximum of 10%, will be actively and permanently removed from the atmosphere through suitable removal projects.
