In recent years, the hotels at Munich Airport have already enjoyed excellent occupancy rates. Current passenger traffic forecasts also point to an increase in demand. In line with those needs, the hotel capacity at the airport is steadily expanding.
In 2017 the Hilton Hotel Munich Airport opened a new extension, adding 162 upscale rooms, bringing the total number offered to 551. At the same time, office space in the hotel was repurposed as a new conference center.
The Novotel München Airport, which opened in 2010 in the AirSite West development, has 257 rooms in the mid-price segment.
Those two hotels will soon be complemented by a third. Construction on the Ibis Styles, to the south of the existing Novotel, is due to start in 2020.
The new budget hotel, operated by the AccorHotels Group, will have approximately 350 rooms. It is scheduled for completion in 2021. Amenities will include a bar, a restaurant and a separate food market.
Guests and passengers will be just minutes from the terminals by bus or S-Bahn rail link.
