Chalet-sized ski helmet highlights innovative campaign at Munich Airport Center Forum

October 29, 2019

With the ski season just around the corner, the Ischgl Ski Resort in the Austrian Alps placed a 20-foot-high helmet in the covered space between Terminals 1 and 2 at Munich Airport.

The gigantic helmet at Munich Airport turned heads – even among most well-travelled frequent flyers. With the unique installation, the Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun ski resort reached out to passengers and visitors at Europe's only five-star airport ahead of the coming winter sports season. But the big helmet was not there just to be admired from a distance. In the spacious interior, video presentations and wall displays presented the excitement of the Ischgl ski slopes. Visitors could also pick up an iPad in the lounge area to learn about the many attractions and offers in and around Ischgl.

"Munich Airport has a well-earned reputation for executing innovative product and brand campaigns with exciting partners. The generous architecture of the Munich Airport Center maximizes the opportunities to implement extraordinary concepts like the gigantic ski helmet," said Cornelia Rossmann, Vice President Advertising & Media at Munich Airport. Andreas Streibl, the managing director of the Paznaun-Ischgl Tourism Association added: "Munich Airport is an exciting partner with huge potential for high-impact placements. Thanks to the international audience, we expect our campaign to attract many new fans to Ischgl."
