Depending on your destination, certain vaccinations or preventive measures are recommended or required (e.g., yellow fever, hepatitis A and B, typhoid, rabies, TBE, and malaria prophylaxis).

Tropical Medicine and Long-Distance Travel
When traveling to Africa, Asia, or South America, it is advisable to consult a doctor about tropical health risks (including malaria, dengue fever, Zika, environmental stressors, and what to include in your travel first-aid kit).
Chronic conditions, pregnancy, or planned long-term stays are also taken into account during the travel medicine consultation.

Travel counseling and travel vaccinations are not covered by public health insurance; a private invoice will be issued.
- Many public health insurance plans reimburse a portion of the costs. An overview is provided by the Center for Travel Medicine
- Please send the completed questionnaire a few days before the appointment via Email, by fax or mail, or drop it off in person.
- Please bring all your vaccination records with you.
- After receiving a vaccination, please wait on site for about 15 minutes and take it easy for the next three days.
