Terminal 1 Pier

A new gateway for intercontinental travel

Since April 21, 2026, passengers flying to non‑Schengen destinations from Terminal 1 have been traveling via the new Terminal 1 Pier. Around 40 airlines now use the facility, which significantly strengthens the infrastructure for intercontinental traffic while creating additional capacity and offering a modern, comfortable travel experience.

Seamlessly integrated into Terminal 1, the new pier combines contemporary architecture with optimized passenger flows to enhance efficiency and comfort. Following more than seven years of construction alongside ongoing airport operations, as well as an extensive trial phase, the project has now successfully entered regular operations - marking another important milestone in the continued development of Munich Airport.

With a total investment of €665 million, the Terminal 1 Pier sets new standards for efficiency and passenger experience within Terminal 1 and once again underlines Munich Airport’s commitment to providing an efficient, contemporary, and future‑ready travel experience.
