MAI offers audit and certification support

July 30, 2019

In an effort to further diversify its portfolio, Munich Airport International (MAI) now offers additional services in the area of quality and safety management audits. Our expert Florian Wilzer successfully completed an auditor training program and now holds a certification as Aviation Auditor. This ISO-compliant audit training featured, beside basic auditing guidelines and principles, special knowledge in aviation disciplines like legislation, quality and safety management. An introduction to IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) was also part of the course.

Combining his professional experience in the ground handling industry with the newly gained auditing skills, Florian can support MAI’s customers with individual solutions in audit/certification preparation, ISAGO implementation, and the evaluation of safety, quality or compliance management systems.

“The course enabled me to attain all necessary theoretical background, while practical exercise helped deepen the acquired competence”, said Florian. “Safety as well as quality and compliance with regulations are crucial in the aviation industry. For those who excel in all three disciplines and develop sophisticated management systems, the effort will translate into business success, increased revenues and reduced costs. In order to keep a continuous improvement process and to discover any flaws, a constant auditing effort is necessary. Additionally, certifications, like ISAGO, became a common standard and will be required by ground handling companies who conduct business with renowned airlines world-wide.”
