09.10.2019
From the start of the 2020 summer timetable period, Uzbekistan Airways will offer two weekly services from Munich to the capital of Uzbekistan. The flights will depart from Tashkent on Wednesdays and Sundays at 07:15 and arrive in Munich at 10:35. The return flights will leave Munich at 12:30 and land in Tashkent at 21:35.

Situated on the legendary Silk Road, Tashkent has a 2,200 year history. Today's Uzbekistan is located almost in the middle of this former 6,000 km long trade route. For centuries the country was a link between China and Europe. Impressive buildings of particular beauty were erected. Even today, one can encounter the magic of 1001 Nights in the Uzbek cities along the route. Uzbekistan is home to a number of key Silk Road cities including Bukhara, Khiva and Samarkand, and four UNESCEO World Heritage sites. Travelers will be captivated by the country’s wealth of majestic architecture, rich culture and unique traditions.

The new flights will also provide access to a wide range of connecting services to the CIS countries and to southern, eastern and south-eastern Asia.

"We're delighted with the launch of this new service to Uzbekistan, which will also enable passengers to catch connecting flights to all of the 'Stan countries' via Tashkent," said Ulrich Theis, Director Traffic Development Munich Airport. He added, "These flights will provide access from and via Munich to this fast-growing business and tourism region and will meet the rapidly growing demand for flights to central Asia."

“Uzbekistan Airways is pleased to expand its route network in Germany and to launch a new flight to Munich,” said Utkur Alimov, General Manager of Uzbekistan Airways in Frankfurt/Main. “Our flights to Frankfurt are in great demand. We are sure that the new flight to Munich will also be in demand among German tourists. The opening of a new destination will undoubtedly contribute to the strengthening of the Uzbek-German cooperation and serve the development of the tourism potential of our countries”, enhances Alimov.

The new route will be served by Boeing B-757 and Airbus A-320 Neo airliners. The seating configuration of the Boeing B-757 can accommodate 22 business class and 168 economy class passengers. The Airbus A-320 Neo offers 12 business class and 138 economy class seats.
