Fun Facts - One year Terminal 2-Satellite at Munich Airport

Munich Airport's T2-Satellite celebrated its first birthday in April 2017 and the results to date are impressive: in the first year, the midfield terminal – the first to be built at a German airport – has handled roughly 9 million passengers on more than 74,000 flights!

Extremely popular: the Lufthansa First Class, Senator and Business Lounges with approximately 590,000 guests as well as the extensive shopping options. International brands and traditional German retailers ranging from Victoria's Secret, Lufthansa World Shop and Picard to Van Laack, Hallhuber and Steiff together with three duty free stores on an area of 7,000 square meters offer a unique shopping experience for travelers of all kind.

The central marketplace in the heart of the Terminal 2-Satellite surrounding the apron tower was especially popular among travelers with appreciation for Bavarian specialties, who consumed more than 251,000 pretzels, 22,000 kg of Leberkäse and 1,600 kg of the creamy cheese specialty known as Obazda.

And to top it all: Terminal 2 including the new T2-Satellite facility was honored as the world's number one terminal by the London-based Skytrax Institute – what a compliment!
