Access Management

Airport ID card and vehicle badge

The airport ID card serves as identification and, depending on its color, authorizes the holder to enter specific security areas.

After successfully receiving your airport ID card, you can apply for electronic and mechanical keys. You can pick up the key with a valid key application at the Lock Management Office in Terminal 1 - Level 03, Arrivals B, and thus gain access to your work area.

  • With a access badge and an apron driving license, you are permitted to use your road-legal vehicle in the airport's security area.
  • With a residence badge and an apron driving license, you are permitted to use your non-road-legal vehicle in the airport's security area.

You can pick up your airport ID card and access badge at the ID card office at Munich Airport Center (MAC). For information on picking up residence badges, please contact vehicle-badge@munich-airport.de.

We offer training on how to correctly complete the ID card application. If you would like to participate in an airport ID card application training session, please send us an email to ausweiswesen@munich-airport.de.

Please note that the registration certificate is no longer required as of January 1, 2025.
