A Stroll Through Aarhus

Aarhus is Denmark’s second-biggest city. But in terms of population it’s relatively small, with only about 250,000 residents. Culturally, though, it’s huge: in 2017, the hidden Vikings-Gem was chosen as the “European Capital of Culture”.

Wandering through the lanes of the Old Town packed with cafés, boutiques and small galleries, you can feel the vibrant fusion of art, lifestyle and history that lures young people from all over the world. Aarhus also has lots to offer in terms of architecture, including fascinating modern structures. Just visit any of the many leading-edge museums and you’ll be blown away by what you encounter there, whether you choose to enjoy art in the AROS or soak up history in the Moesgaard.

Also highly recommended is the spectacle of the Viking Moot in late July, where the festive markets of the Middle Ages are recreated. The jazz café in the historic Den Gamle By district is another highlight you won’t want to miss.

It’s a great idea to spend a few days in Aarhus, where you can expand your cultural horizons, check out new trends or simply be spontaneous and explore.

So don’t hesitate – book a flight to Aarhus now! Starting this April, SAS will be flying there almost every day from Munich.
