Munich Airport Gains Two New Highlights at Once

This remodeled area of Terminal 2 at Munich Airport is a delight for the eyes and palate:
On September 16, the new Käfer Genusswerkstatt restaurant opened in the publicly accessible (presecurity) part of Terminal 2, serving exclusive regional and international specialties. It is right next to the new information lounge of Bayern Tourismus Marketing GmbH, the official marketing organization for the Bavarian tourist industry.

The Käfer Genusswerkstatt lets passengers and visitors enjoy products from the surrounding region, including coffee from the Munich-based Emilio coffee roaster, as well as international taste treats such as French quiche, excellent Asian food and a rich red wine from Italy. Lovers of healthy organic cuisine can also get their fill of yummy wraps and fresh salads. If you’re looking for something to take home to your loved ones or just want to give yourself a treat, this is the right place to go: an integrated shop sells products from the world of Käfer and beyond, including extra virgin olive oil, handmade porcelain, quality wines, exotic spices and much more – there’s something for everyone!

Right next door, the Bavaria Welcome Lounge invites waiting meeters & greeters, travelers and anyone else who’s interested to get comfortable and watch multimedia presentations to get inspiration for trips and sightseeing.

Arriving passengers emerge from the baggage claim into the publicly accessible part of the airport right next to the lounge. There they can use a touchscreen to learn about the wide variety of things to do and fascinating places to visit in Bavaria. It’s a convenient way for passengers to get a virtual taste of what awaits them right after touching down.
