A Summer Weekend in the World’s Most Livable City

Munich has now overtaken Tokyo as the most livable city in the world, according to the Monocle Quality of Life Survey.

The criteria applied to identify high quality of life include a healthy work-life balance, satisfied residents and topnotch public services. All of these things aptly describe everyday life in Munich, a city where natives and tourists rub shoulders and high priority is attached to safety and security.

Clean and fast public transportation and a booming economy are among the other criteria applied to choose the world’s most livable city – and they definitely apply to the Bavarian capital.

Last but not least, people simply enjoy living in Munich – regardless of whether they have grown up here living and breathing Bavarian traditions, or hail from elsewhere and immediately feel right at home in the city’s cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Munich Airport is the first point of contact for fresh arrivals, with an experience that continues throughout their stay in the Bavarian capital. A relaxed, worry-free break is guaranteed!
