The new Terminal A at EWR is a modern, state-of-the-art one million square foot terminal which replaced the decades-old terminal A. The new Terminal A has a design capacity of approximately 13.5 million annual passengers with 33 common-use gates providing generous space for a smooth passenger journey through the building.
With an award-winning “Digital Journey of Surprises” that consists of a New Jersey Forest of Firsts digital pillar sign garden highlighting New Jersey’s historic firsts, to sense-of-place digital artwork in the holdrooms, to New Jersey trivia-focused pylon signage at every gate, to a 200-foot long digital welcome banner showcasing 20 local digital artists, Terminal A and MANJ are dedicated to surprising and delighting passengers while they traverse the modern facility.
Terminal A features 60 retail and food and beverage vendors with six small businesses from the local area, and three amazing airline lounges including the American Airlines Lounge, the Delta Sky Club, and the United Lounge.
There are three children’s play areas, a children’s free lending library, and other passenger amenities including Sensory Rooms (both pre and post security), a Meditation Space, an Adult Changing Room, a Business Center, two Pet Relief Areas (both pre and post security), Nursing Rooms, Family and Gender-Neutral Restrooms, Water Bottle Filling Stations, numerous workstations, and plentiful free charging stations and Wi-Fi accessible around the terminal.
