AirSite East includes the original Terminal 2 gates along with the new Terminal 2 satellite facility that went into operation in April 2016. The new building is a functional component of Terminal 2 situated on the airport's eastern apron. Also the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) is located at this area.
The 600-meter pier with more than 52 departure gates and 27 pierside aircraft stands can handle 11 million passengers per year. The Terminal 2 satellite, with total floor space of more than 125,000 square meters, will offer all essential services.
At the center of the building, attractive marketplaces on both passenger levels will feature a diverse range of retail and restaurant premises with a total area of 9,000 square meters.
Munich Airport Center (MAC) offers a total of 21,000 square meters of floor space in flexible rental units with modern office space. Only a small number of units are still available. The MAC was designed by the renowned architect Helmut Jahn, who has gained international fame through such high-profile projects as the Sony Center in Berlin and the Highlight Towers in Munich.
The Municon conference centers offers 40 conference rooms, comfortable lounges and catering for every occasion. The adjacent hotel, also a Helmut Jahn design, is adding a new, 160-room wing at a total cost of approximately 36 million euros.
