Passengers arriving from risk areas

At Munich Airport, several testing options for SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus are offered in the public area and within Terminal 2.

They can be used by travelers as well as all other persons.

For international transfer passengers (non-Schengen), a fee-based test center is available in Terminal 2 (near Gate H17).

Tests by MediCare

  • PCR-/Antigen/Anti body tests at the doctor

    Passengers can also undergo a PCR test for a fee (184.44 euros*) via MediCare, a subsidiary of Flughafen München GmbH, at the airport's medical center (Emergency Outpatient Clinic Terminal 1, Module E, Level 03), also with test certificate for Japan (surcharge 25,00Euro). Within 24 hours at the latest, travelers receive their findings by e-mail in German and English. A positive test result must be reported to the health department in accordance with regulatory requirements.

    No testing of suspected cases and contacts.

    No free testing after quarantine ordered by the authorities.

    In addition, MediCare offers all-day:

    • Rapid antigen tests (nasal swab, result in 30 minutes): from 73.27 euros*
    • Antibody IgG and IgM rapid tests (venous blood draw, result in 20 minutes) from 66,64 Euro*
    • as well as Fit to Fiy tests (from 67,92 Euro*).

    All tests are performed by medical doctors. All tests and examinations are confirmed by a medical certificate (German/English).

    Attention: Tests are performed only on persons without Covid-19 symptoms, or without contact with a person who may have contracted Covid-19.

In the test center of MediCare's emergency first aid center (Terminal 1/ Module E/Level 03), you can have yourself tested by doctors all day long, with prior registration.

Centogene in Terminal 1

  • 35-Min-PCR, antigen tests and Japan tests

    CENTOGENE offers corona testing at the test center in Terminal 1, direction T1 Departure C/D (Level 3). Available are a molecular PCR test for SARS-CoV-2, an antigen test and a PCR test with certificate for Japan entry.

    • Antigen rapid test: Results within 30 minutes (41 Euro, only available until 9 p.m.)
    • PCR rapid test (35 Min): Results within 35 minutes (239 Euro, appointment booking required at corona.centogene.com)
    • PCR rapid test (75 Min): Results within 75 minutes (139 Euro, appointment booking required at corona.centogene.com)
    • PCR-Test: Results within 24 hours (69 Euro)
    • PCR test for Japan entry: Result within 24 hours (89 Euro incl. certificate according to Japanese government)

    The test offer is aimed exclusively at self-pay customers - payment is made in advance online by credit card or PayPal via the company's Corona Test Portal or contactlessly by debit or credit card on site.

    The test center is open daily from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Appointment Registration & Contact

    Only persons who do not have any symptoms can be tested in order to protect the health of the employees and the persons who are tested in the test center. Please wear a medical mask (so-called surgical masks or also masks of the standards KN95/N95 or FFP2) in the test centers.

The test center is located in Terminal 1, direction T1 Departure C/D (Level 3) at Munich Airport and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.. You can get 1h PCR tests, antigen tests and tests for Japan entry.

"Test & Fly" Center (MVZ)

  • Quick results: PCR or Antigen

    The medical laboratory MVZ Martinsried with its"Test & Fly" Center in terminal 2, level 04 offers a testing Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 with fastest possible result determination. 

    1. SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR Test*: 128€ (incl. VAT.). Test result usually within 2 to 4 hours. Sampling: throat swab. Detection of the following virus variants possible: B.1.1.7 (origin in England), B.1.351 (origin in South Africa), P.1 (origin in Brazil). (Virus sequencing is performed from all PCR-positive SARS-CoV-2 samples. The determined sequences are made available to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI)).
    2. PCR-Express*: 178€ (incl. VAT). Test result usually within 60 to 120 minutes. This test is currently only offered from 6 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and can be booked during this period.
    3. SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test*: 45€ (incl. VAT.). Test result usually within 30 to 60 minutes. Sampling: throat swab.
    4. PCR test for Japan entry: 128 Euro incl. certificate according to Japanese government. Result within 2 to 4 hours

    The tests, which are subject to a charge, are primarily aimed at departing passengers at Munich Airport. Non-travelers, rail travelers or car travelers can also have a test done here.

    The "Test & Fly" Center is open daily from 5 am to 8 pm at Terminal 2, Level 4. Travellers can book the appointment online and pay in advance.

    According to §7 (1) of the German Infection Protection Act (IfSG) the laboratory is obliged to report a positive test result to the public health department.

The "Test & Fly" Center in Terminal 2, Level 04 is open daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Travelers can schedule an appointment online and receive the results within two to four hours. 

Citizen Testing Station at MAC

  • Antigen test with quick result

    Citizens and all passengers can be tested via the airport subsidiary Allresto. The sample is taken using the so-called "lollipop test", which is much more comfortable than the usual nasal or throat swab. The result of the rapid antigen test is usually issued within 15 to 30 minutes after sample collection.

    The free tests (citizen testing) at the Munich Airport Center are conducted by our subsidiary Allresto on behalf of the Erding Health Department. If you have any questions about test results, please contact Allresto exclusively.

The Test Center is located directly above the Airbräu in the Munich Airport Center (MAC) on level 04 and is open daily from 3:30 am to 8 pm.

Test facility for transfer passengers

  • PCR- and Antigen-Tests

    Two Covid-19 test stations are available in Terminal 2 for transferring passengers.

    • Transfer area Schengen: opposite gate G32

    • Transfer area Non Schengen: at gate H17

    The following internationally recognized testing options are offered there:

    • SARS-CoV2-RT PCR test for 128,- Euro (throat swab, result usually after 3 to 4 hours)
    • PCR-Express: 178€ (incl. VAT). Test result usually within 60 to 120 minutes. This test is currently only offered from 6 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and can be booked during this period.
    • SARS-CoV2- Antigen-Rapid Test for 45,- Euro (throat swab, result after usually 1 to 2 hours).
    • PCR test for Japan entry: 128 Euro incl. certificate according to Japanese government. Result within 2 to 4 hours. 

    The tests are performed in cooperation with MVZ Martinsried and Aicher Ambulanz.
