3. General information on data processing when using our services

3.1. What are personal data?

Personal data refer to all information (for example name, address or phone number) relating to an identified or identifiable person (referred to below as "data subject ").

3.2. What information do we collect and for what purposes?

When you access any part of our website (with the exception of the contact form – see below), data that could be used to identify you (e.g. your IP address) and other information such as the date, time and the pages you have visited are only stored in pseudonymized form. We only analyze data for statistical purposes. The pseudonymized data are deleted after the statistical analysis.

When sending the contact form, the current IP address of the sender is saved for security reasons.

These data are stored on FMG servers for a limited period and analyzed statistically for marketing and optimization purposes to further improve future content and services. This does not enable us to draw any conclusions regarding the identity of an individual person.

Please note: some services require you to register with your data. For further information, refer to the separate privacy statement for the service in question.

If you register on our website or contact us using our contact form, we will process and use the personal data collected (e.g. your email address) to the extent required for the respective purpose.

3.3. Purpose of data processing

The purpose of the company is to operate Munich Airport, including all ancillary business activities directly or indirectly supporting this purpose. Personal data are processed exclusively to achieve the business purpose pursued by Flughafen München GmbH.

3.4. Recipients or categories of recipients to whom the data may be communicated

  • Partners with whom we co-operate to provide our services
  • Courts, authorities or other public institutions where legal obligations so require
  • External contractors in accordance with Art. 28 of the EU GDPR
  • External offices and departments within the company to achieve the declared purposes

3.5. Planned data transfer to non-EU countries

There are no plans to transfer personal data to countries outside of the EU.

3.6. Duration of storage

We comply with the principles of data avoidance and data minimization. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes specified here or as stipulated under the various storage periods required by law. The pertinent data will routinely be blocked or deleted in accordance with statutory regulations once the relevant purpose no longer applies or on expiry of these periods.

4. Which internet technologies are used?

4.1. Collection of general information

When you access our website, information of a general nature is logged automatically. This information (server log files) includes data such as the type of web browser, the operating system used and the domain name of your internet service provider. It is not possible to use any of this information to identify you. The information concerns the technical data necessary for the correct delivery of the website content requested by you and is essential when using the internet. We evaluate anonymous information of this nature for statistical purposes in order to optimize our website and the underlying technology.

4.2. Registering on our website

Some personal data are collected when you register to use our personalized services, for example your name, address, and contact and communication details such as your telephone number and email address. If you are registered with us, you can access content and services that we offer to registered users only. Registered users can also change or delete the data provided at registration at any time where necessary. In addition to this we will, of course, provide you with information at any time about your personal data stored by us. We will be happy to correct or delete these data on request unless statutory archiving obligations stipulate otherwise. To contact us in this regard, please use the contact information provided at the end of this Privacy Statement.

4.3. Delivery of services subject to payment

We ask for additional data, e.g. payment details, when delivering services subject to payment. State-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via the HTTPS protocol are used to protect the security of the data transfer.

4.4. Comments function

When users comment on the blog, the time of the comment and the username they have previously selected are stored alongside the comment itself. This is for our protection, as we can be held legally responsible for illegal content on our website, even when this has been created by users.

4.5. Newsletter

The data you provide when registering to receive our newsletter will only be used for this purpose. Subscribers can also be informed by email about circumstances relevant to the service or registration (for example changes to the newsletter service or technical issues).

A valid email address is required for successful registration. We use a "double-opt-in" procedure to confirm that the owner of an email address has actually registered. To this end we log the ordering of the newsletter, the sending of a confirmation email and receipt of the response requested therein. No other data are collected. The data are used solely to send the newsletter and are not passed on to third parties.

You may withdraw your consent to the storage of your personal data and use of the data to send the newsletter at any time. A link for this can be found on every newsletter. You can furthermore unsubscribe at any time directly on this website or send us your request in this respect using the contact details specified at the end of this document.

5. Cookies, web management, web analysis and advertising

We use certain technical services for the technical management, analysis and optimization of our websites and for marketing purposes, and these also predominantly use "cookies". Cookies are small text files transmitted by a website server to your terminal device (e.g. your hard disk) and stored there.

The purpose of the technical services and cookies is to make our products and services more user-friendly for you and – depending on their use – help us to optimize and develop them. In some areas of our websites, information on your browsing activity on our site is collected in pseudonymized / anonymized form and processed under a pseudonym (usage profile) as needed. This method is also used to store the default settings for various products and services you have selected (a).

Please note:

We do not use any of the data processed by our technical services and cookies to identify you personally. Neither do we amalgamate these data with other data.

The types of cookies we use are primarily session cookies used only for the current session. We additionally use "persistent cookies" that remain active beyond the end of the current session. Persistent cookies enable us to recognize your browser if you visit our website at a later date.

Please note:

The cookies we use to manage our websites cannot be deactivated (b), because without them we cannot provide the functionality, products and services we offer.

In particular in the area of web analysis (which looks at questions such as: How precisely are our websites used? Where are improvements needed? etc.) we use technical services provided by external data processors. For this purpose, your usage data are stored in pseudonymized / anonymized form and transmitted to the external data processing provider for processing.

Third-party cookies (c) (targeting / advertising cookies) are used for marketing purposes. For example, we use search engine marketing services in some areas of our websites. The provider sets a third-party cookie that is retrieved by our website when a website objective is fulfilled (e.g. the booking of a parking space) and transferred to the third-party provider in question. This permits the anonymized measurement of advertising results.

Please note:

With respect to web analysis and marketing, as a matter of principle you can decide whether or not you wish to allow these analyses or this advertising.

If you do not wish to allow the use of such cookies, you have the opportunity to deactivate individual services and their cookies by setting an "opt-out cookie" (5.1). In this case none of your data will be processed

You can also adjust your browser settings so that no cookies are saved in the first place or so that all cookies are deleted at the end of your current session (d).

Please note:

Please bear in mind that deleting cookies from your internet browser will also delete your opt-out cookies. In this case you will need to reset the relevant opt-out cookie.

Footnotes:

a) The legal basis for using these services, their cookies and the associated processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The specific legitimate interests arise from the stated purpose in the respective case.

b) If you deactivate cookies in your browser settings, you may be unable to use or fully use some of the products and services on our website.

c) Please bear in mind that the providers of these technical services and third party cookies determine the extent of processing themselves, and that these providers are subject to their own data protection statements, over which we have no influence.

d) Information is available on how to configure your browser, for example at: Privacy guide book: Digitally secure (a public and free service provided by Telekom GmbH).

5.1. Services used and associated cookies

The specific services and associated cookies used on this website are set out below.

5.1.1 Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files that are stored on your computer and enable us to analyze how you use our website. The information generated by the cookie on your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Due to the activation of IP anonymization on these web pages, however, your IP address is previously truncated by Google within the EU member states and other signatory states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyze your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services to the website operator in connection with website and internet use. Google will not amalgamate the IP address transmitted to Google Analytics by your browser with any other data. You can block cookies by means of a corresponding browser setting. In this case, however, please note that you might not have full access to all features of this website. Downloading and installing the browser plugin available using the following link enables you to opt out and prevent data relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) generated by the cookie being sent to and processed by Google: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

In addition to or instead of the browser plugin, you can block tracking by Google Analytics on our website by clicking this link. An opt-out cookie will then be installed on your device. This will prevent the future collection of data by Google Analytics for this website and this browser while the cookie is installed on your browser.

5.1.2 Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting

In addition to the standard version of Google Analytics, we also use Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. For this purpose, Google uses a DoubleClick cookie that it may have saved on your computer. In this way we receive reports from Google with information, for example, on which visitor groups (interests, age groups) visit our website and what interests them there. We use this information to better address our target group. We will not personally identify you in these reports.

When using our website, you consent to this use of data in the context of Google Analytics (Demographics and Interest Reporting).

You can prevent your visit being included in our reports by opting out of Google Analytics tracking as described above.

Information on how Google uses data and how you can object to or monitor data use can be found at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

5.1.3 Use of Google DoubleClick for Publishers

This website uses DoubleClick for Publishers ("DoubleClick"), a Google service. DoubleClick is a platform for the placement, management and optimization of advertisements on websites. DoubleClick enables us to reach and present personalized ads to website visitors who have previously shown interest in certain content areas. This is made possible through an analysis of their use of our website, including other site pages, and on other websites within the Google display network (Google itself, Google Ads, and other websites). For this purpose, Google uses DoubleClick cookies, which are stored on your computer. Most cookies contain a cookie ID, which is a sequence of characters that assign websites and servers to the browser where the cookie is stored. This enables the websites and servers to distinguish the browser from browsers with other cookies, enabling every browser to be identified with a unique cookie ID. This ID is used exclusively for the unique identification of a web browser on a certain computer and not to identify a person. DoubleClick cookies do not contain or store any personal data of users.

You can deactivate personalized Google ads in your browser by clicking the "Turn off" link in the deactivation settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads or, if you use the Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer browser, by deactivating the DoubleClick cookie by installing the browser extension provided at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.

5.1.4 Use of Google remarketing

This website uses the remarketing function of Google Inc. This function serves to present interest-based advertisements to website users within the Google display network. A cookie is stored in the website user's browser that enables the user to be recognized when accessing other websites in the Google display network. The user can be shown ads on these sites based on the content previously viewed on websites that use the Google remarketing function.

According to Google, it does not collect personal data in this process. However, if you do not wish to use the Google remarketing function, it is always possible to deactivate it using the settings under https://www.google.com/settings/ads. Alternatively you can opt out of the use of cookies for interest-based ads through the Network Advertising Initiative by following the instructions at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

5.1.5 Use of etracker technology

The operator of this website uses the services of etracker GmbH in Hamburg, Germany (www.etracker.com) to analyze user data. This uses cookies which permit the statistical analysis of the use of this website by its visitors and the display of user-related content or ads Cookies are small text files saved on the user's terminal device by the web browser. Etracker cookies contain no information that could be used to identify the user.

The data generated by etracker on behalf of the provider of this website are only processed and saved by etracker in Germany and are therefore subject to strict German and European data privacy laws and standards. Etracker has been independently audited and certified in this regard and awarded the ePrivacyseal quality seal.

Data are processed on the basis of the legal provisions in Art. 6 (1) (f) (legitimate interests) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR). Our legitimate interests lie in the optimization of our online services and our website. Because the privacy of our users is very important to us, the IP address is anonymized by etracker at the earliest possible stage and the login or device IDs are converted to a key which is unique but cannot be assigned to an individual person. The data are not used by etracker data for any other purposes, amalgamated with other data or forwarded to third parties.

You can object to the aforementioned data processing at any time insofar as the objection concerns personal data. Your objection will not have any detrimental consequences for you.

I object to the processing of my personal data on this website using etracker.

Further information on data protection with etracker can be found here.

5.1.6 Use of Adobe Analytics (Omniture)

This website uses Adobe Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited ("Adobe"). Adobe Analytics uses cookies, which are text files stored on your computer that enable us to analyze how you use our website. When a tracking record is forwarded by the browser of a website visitor to the Adobe data center, the server setting implemented by us ensures that the IP address is anonymized prior to geolocation by replacing the final octet of digits in the address with zeros. Before the tracking packet is stored, the IP address is replaced by individual generic IP addresses. Adobe will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyze how users deploy the website in order to compile reports on website activities and provide other services associated with website and internet use to the website operator. The IP address transmitted to Adobe Analytics by your browser will not be combined with other Adobe data. You can prevent the cookie being saved by changing the relevant setting in your browser software. If you do so, however, please note that you might not have full access to all features of this website. Users can also opt out of the collection by Adobe of the data relating to their use of the website and generated by the cookie (including their IP address) as well as the processing of these data by Adobe by downloading and installing the browser plugin available using the following link: The current link is: https://www.adobe.com/privacy/opt-out.html.

6. Analysis by WiredMinds

Our website uses the tracking pixel technology from WiredMinds AG to analyze visitor behavior.

Data will be collected, processed and stored from which user profiles are created under a pseudonym. Where possible and reasonable, these user profiles are completely anonymized. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the visitor's internet browser and serve to recognize the internet browser. The collected data, which may also contain personal data, are transmitted to WiredMinds or collected directly by WiredMinds. WiredMinds may use information left after visits to the websites to create anonymized user profiles. Data obtained in this way will not be used to personally identify the visitor to this website without the separately granted consent of the data subject and will not be conflated with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym. If IP addresses are recorded, they are anonymized immediately by deleting the last block of numbers.

You may opt out of data processing at any time with future effect using the following link: Exclude from website tracking

7. Social plugins

Social plugins from the providers listed below are used on our websites. You can identify these plugins by the corresponding logo.

In some cases, information may be sent to and used by the service provider through these plugins, and this may include personal data. We prevent the capture and transfer of data to the service provider without the user's knowledge or consent with a two-click solution. To activate a desired social plugin, the user must first click the appropriate button. The capture of information and its transfer to the service provider is triggered only once the plugin has been activated. We do not capture any personal data ourselves by means of the social plugins or through their use.

We have no influence over which data an activated plug-in will capture or how the provider will use such data. At present, it must be assumed that a direct link is created to the provider's services and that at least the IP address and device-related information is captured and utilized. It is likewise possible that the service provider will attempt to store cookies on the computer being used. For information on which specific data are stored in such cases and how data are used, please refer to the data protection information for the service provider in question. Please note: If you are simultaneously logged into Facebook, Facebook can identify you as a visitor to a certain website.

8. Google AdWords

Our website uses Google conversion tracking. If you access our website via an advertisement placed by Google, Google AdWords will place a cookie on your computer. The conversion tracking cookie is placed on a computer when the user clicks an ad placed by Google. These cookies cease to be valid after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages on our website before the cookie expires, we and Google can see that the user clicked on the ad and was directed to this page. Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. As a result, cookies cannot be tracked using the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected with the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are informed about the total number of users who click on their ad and are directed to a page containing a conversion tracking tag. They do not, however, receive any information with which users can be personally identified.

If you do not wish to take part in tracking, you can opt out of the necessary placement of a cookie – for example using the browser setting for generally deactivating the automatic setting of cookies or by adjusting your browser settings so that cookies from the "googleleadservices.com" domain are blocked.

Please note that you cannot delete the opt-out cookies if you do not want measurement data to be recorded. If you have deleted all cookies in your browser, you will need to renew the relevant opt-out cookie.

9. Your rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, data portability and withdrawal of consent

As a precaution we additionally draw your attention to the following: if a legal obligation prevents us from deleting your data, we will block your data on request. To ensure that a data block can be complied with at all times, these data must be kept in a blocked file for monitoring purposes. You can make changes or revoke a declaration of consent with future effect at any time by notifying us accordingly. Your consent is only legally effective until it is revoked.

11. Changes to our data protection provisions
