200 pages of coverage on Munich Airport’s successes and competencies
Munich Airport has released the fifth edition of its integrated report. In the nearly 200-page report, entitled "Strengths", the Munich Airport operating company FMG presents its traffic statistics and financial results for 2014 along with all data relevant to the airport's sustainable development. The 39.7 million travellers counted in the year under review represented yet another all-time high. Munich Airport also had a very successful 2014 fiscal year from a business standpoint, with Group sales of approximately 1.2 billion Euros and earnings after taxes (EAT) of over 100 million Euros. The integrated report is a central corporate publication by Munich Airport that combines the airport's financial and sustainability reporting. "Strengths" explains the competencies underlying Munich Airport's excellence. Innovations in this year's edition of the report include an app for viewing the initial photo series as a slide show, user-friendly navigation via a fold-out table of contents, more charts and illustrations, and a large-format infographic.
The authors have also taken the reporting standard to a new level: With the new edition of "Strengths", the airport has applied the G4 sustainability reporting guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) for the first time. In an external audit, key parameters of the airport's performance were measured against sustainability benchmarks. "This independent audit boosts the credibility of our sustainability efforts and underscores how seriously we take sustainability at Munich Airport," said Dr. Michael Kerkloh, the CEO and President of FMG.
Again this year, FMG has combined the release of the report with a major survey of its stakeholder groups. Readers of the report have the opportunity to provide feedback on the report at www.munich-airport.de/survey and assign ratings to the Group's sustainable development performance in key categories. "Strengths" is available for download effective immediately at www.munich-airport.de/report.
